Update on my issues. Tech came out today and did nearly 45minutes of testing and adjusting outside at the amplifier before even coming inside. When he came in he told me a Trash truck hit an amp a few blocks down yesterday, which explained my 5 hour outage. He hooked up his line tester and said I had .25% packet loss. Said my levels were too high. (was reading 2dBmV via the modem before he adjusted the amp outside, 7dBmV after) He went outside to investigate my splitter configuration, which I knew I did not have, but didn't tell him this. After nearly another 45min he said he'd got it as perfect as possible( Downstream power level reads 1dBmV via modem currently) and that my packet loss was down to .12%. HOWEVER, as for speeds, he stated they were aware of slow speeds in Fort Morgan and Brush,(10mi away) and that they were being worked on but it would take time. Also stated it was not something a field technician could fix. He gave no time frame just that one day when I got on I would be getting faster speeds than I was used to.
Overall I'm glad and perhaps lucky I got a knowledgeable technician. Speeds are good compared to what im used to and although I can't consistently peg their speedtest, it is consistently 5000-15000kbps faster than what i'm used to getting at this time of day. I hope it stays this way.
Also Forgot to note I purchased a used(looks new) Motorola SB6120 last week on ebay and had no issues with support questioning me or switching the modem over.
