Cable Box sleep mode question

Is there a way to change the sleep mode settings on my cable box? It seems that every morning around 1:15am, it pops up a dialog that it's going into sleep mode unless I hit a button on my remote. This isn't from lack of use, I could have changed the channel 5 minutes prior. It seems odd it would be trying to go into power-saving mode while the box is actually being used.
