I just switched from Directv to Optimum for TV, internet and phone. The installer was having a hard time hooking up my infrared to the optimum boxes in my closet. I am not an expert in this field, but the Optimum guy says that I was probably not using the infrared with the Directv since that remote uses infrared and radio signals, could that be? Which would mean that the infrared was not actually working to begin with? So confused and looking for any advice that I can pass on to the cable guy!
