I have a Tivo Premier that I have had for a little less than a year. I use the Cablevision supplied cable card. Yesterday morning the Tivo was working fine. Last night, I turned it on and I either got a black screen when going to a channel or I would get a Tivo message over the black screen that there is no signal to display.
I called up Cablevision and they transferred me to the Tivo department. They reauthorized the card and told me to take the card out and wait about 30 seconds and put it back in and it should work. That didn't work. She then told me that she did everything on her end and that is authorized and that I should restart the Tivo. After the 5 minute restart, same thing. She said that it could be a bad cable card and to bring it to the store and swap it with a new one.
My question is, how often does that happen? I have gotten a few "channel unavailables" over the last year and I would always have to call in and have them reauthorize the card. The rest of my Tivo works. That is, it displays the guide and I can watch Tivo'd shows. The other cable box I have in my house is a 4250HD and that works fine. My internet works fine.
If I swap the card and it still doesn't work, anyone have any suggestions?
