[help] Trying to cancel Optimum service after switching to FiOS.

Hi, I am trying to cancel my Optimum service after I got fios since this August and my Optimum service is currently suspended. However, they keep sending me to the payment section whenever I called their number. I tried mashing zero on the number pad and no luck. Is it possible to reach a representative without having to pay the past due?

Google Mesh with Altice One

Now that Altice One is allowing use of your own router, has anyone used the Google Mesh equipment on the Altice One? Since I would have to run about 250 feet of Cat cable to hard wire the mini box, I am not getting the full coverage I want. I had used the Google router on old setup and it worked well. It seems like it should work without much issue.

[OOL] anyone experiencing super slow download speeds?

For the past few days (probably been a week now) I've been experiencing download speeds around 2-5mbps, upload speeds have been OK at around 20-30mbps. Does anyone know if Altice is having internet issues? This is in West Islip NY. Not sure if this helps, but from 192.168.100.1... Is anyone else having issues with their service at the moment? I'm on Optimum Fiber, and I can connect to some things, but mostly everything is super slow to load and some services / sites won't even load. I've been on hold for 30 min waiting to talk to someone.

Wifi Band used affects DNS resolution?

If this is the answer, I am boggled by it. With Optonline supplied router, a user using a win 10 home HP laptop connected wirelessly (it doesn't have a wired NIC) to either 2.4 wifi or 5 (I forget which they were on).... they could consistently not resolve SOME addresses - like www.bloomingdales.com. And loads of others. But other addresses resolved fine. I checked for malware - none found, checked time and date - set correctly I USED DIFFERENT DNS servers - optonlines, Google's, Open DNS... same results with the same websites (bloomie's and others failed regardless of DNS server, others resolve OK regardless of DNS server. Pinging loads of public IP addresses - no dropped packets over 10s of minutes... Turned off windows firewall - no change in the situation. I did nslookup, set d2=1 and saw the domains resolve / fail. Wanted to try that pc on a different network or add anotehr computer to the network. Finally, husband got home from a trip. Said 'yeah, I was having problems and changed the wifi network I was connecting to (2.4 to 5 or 5 to 2.4... I forget). The wife was on the same problem SSID (optonline router) as the husband initially. He changed her to the other SSID and problem solved. REALLY!? Are there settings for the 2 bands that might influence DNS resolution for SOME addresses? That's what boggles my mind - yeah, maybe can't resolve any. OK. A network outage to the DNS servers (I tried several different ones). But can't resolve SOME? Because you are on 2.4 not 5 (or vice versa).?????? Have you ever heard of that? Would that be near the top of your list of things to suspect? THANKS!

Buffering

I'm experiencing excessive buffering while live streaming on my computer, my TV while trying to watch Netflix or Amazon, and anything I have recorded takes forever until you're able to get it to run without pixelation and lockups. Then if I pause it for any reason I have to go through the same crap to get it to play again. I have called them about it, but after having me reboot the modem and router, and going to fast.com, he said it was fixed. It's not. :( Any idea what to do to straighten this out? Thanks.

Can't get to one website

I can't seem to get to rockauto while on my home wifi I have rebooted my Arris modem twice and as well as my router I changed the DNS to openDNS and still it has no effect at all.. however if I go on my phone and turn off the wifi I can get to the website just fine. Has anyone had this issue where just one website wont work when on wifi but it's fine when you shut off wifi?

Came home today to discover that my service was suspended due to non-payment. 100% my fault, I completely forgot to enroll in autopay when I moved into this house in early September, but mentally I thought that I had...so obviously the September and October bills didn't get paid. I'm now trying to pay my FULL balance. Not trying to dispute any charges, not trying to get an extension, just trying to give these a**holes my money so I can watch some damn TV. I tried to create an account to pay online, and it said to wait a "few minutes" for my request to be processed. It's now been over an hour and my request has not been processed yet. I tried to pay over the phone and the automated payment service says "experiencing technical difficulties" after I enter my credit card info and will not process the payment. I have tried with 3 different cards, and none of them work. I spoke to two operators on the phone (25-30 minute wait each time). The first one said she was going to put me through to a person in billing, which turned out to be the same useless automated payment bot. The second one told me to pay online and hung up on me. Neither one of them seemed to care (or even understand what I was saying) that the phone system was not working and I was unable to create an online account. I tried the online chat function, and the operator there directed me to call the "billing department", which...you guessed it...was the same bullshit CS number with half-hour wait times and a broken payment processing system. Anyone have a similar experience? Exactly what hoop do I have to jump through to pay off my balance and get my service turned back on? I'd pay extra at this point if I had to. Do I have to go to an Optimum store, where I'll likely get jerked around again? Piss poor customer service. I guess when you have a monopoly you can do whatever the f you want. PS how about a warning/notification letter that the customer has an overdue balance *before* suspending service?

Can you mix both a Tivo and OOL Box?

Hi I checked the FAQ but didnt see anything. I currently have a Tivo bolt setup with couple of the minis and my own modem and router for the internet. I have another person coming in who is not going to be using the TIVO setup but would like to get the cable TV with a DVR. Can you add a cable box with DVR to the bill (not the altice one since I dont need a router/modem). The extra bedroom has a coax hookup. I live near the OOL store can I just go in there and get an older box and add it to my bill? Thanks!

Getting new for life promo as existing customer

Ever since Optimum got bought out, I have found the customer service reps to be extremely unhelpful. Are we still able to call into retentions and get new promos applied as an existing customer? Looking for some data points as I want to lower my bill, but don't want to install FIOS since I will be moving within a year.

When my clock's chimes strike the hour I get pixilation on some channels. I know the clock's chimes are causing it because if I test the chimes I get the pixilation; it doesn't happen on the channels affected unless the chimes are chiming. The clock and chimes are electric, not mechanical but the clock doesn't use RF to sound the chimes. The chime speaker is hardwired to the clock. Is this possible?

[OOL] Personal modem (TM1602A) Network OK, But No Internet

Switched modems yesterday from Optimum supplied to purchased new TM-1602A. Switch went fairly smoothly. All computers seen on network - only one can access internet. Cell phones same. Went thru all the steps (flush DNS, etc), including Network Reset on laptop and hard-wired desktop. Still No internet. Optimum CS useless (sending tech in two days). Any thoughts as to solution? All PCs are Win10, cell phones Android (& Google)

Is the Optimum Suddenlink network having a major problem? I've been calling for TWO DAYS and the hold times have been "more than 45 minutes" every time. Last night I let the hold music play for two hours and then I finally hung up the phone. What the F is going on?

So I noticed my internet was acting weird so I did a speed test and it showed only 100,,I had 400. I call and apparently I had a promo that was supposed to expire last December but was extended till September. And I love how they lie and say the base speed it 100, meanwhile I look online and it’s 200

Constant disconnection in the evening

So I'm currently writing this because of my frustration. I had OOL installed a week ago and it been a disaster. I signed up for 400 mb service and I bought my own new modem, a Motorola 24x8 Cable Modem, Model MB7621, DOCSIS 3.0. My service works fine during the early day and this Sunday without any issues, but during the late evening time, there is constant disconnection and reconnection; about every 15-25 minutes interrupting EVERYTHING. This happens even if I'm directly connected to the router via LAN. The service is connected directly to the coax cable coming from the wall, I have no TV or telephone service and it is tight/clean/dry; I can not follow the cable far as it is in the wall and there are no splitters from what I can see. I've hard reset the modem as well and also used it with and without a 03 db attenuator 5-1000 MHZ coax connector that was in the wiring box that the tech left there. FYI I do not have any experience with any of this, so I'm seeking help through here since the earliest Optimum and I can work on a tech coming out is 3 weeks from now due to my work schedule and their disposal. Attached is the Event log and the connection display from the modem after a reset and cleared event log, but the same events appear.
