For those of you contemplating on ordering and are interested in my particular package:
Optimum Preferred = $44.95 (same price as what iO family used to be)
Optimum Online = $29.95
Optimum Boost+ = $14.95
Two cable cards = $4.00 ($2 per) + obligatory bullshit premium outlet fee of $5
Grand total not including taxes = $98.85
Before I got away with free Boost for the whole year. This time the sales rep wasn't trying to budge. Only reason I need Boost is so I can run my server at home for IT-specific things that I do.
And well there it is...
The first time I called to order the sales rep said there's no double play, only value or preferred triple play. I ordered that then decided to check online, and there it was; double play. The second idiot sales rep was trying to imply that I was confused as I was likely seeing an offer for Optimum West customers only except the website offered the double play based on my address here in New York.
My bill still went up by $15 but it's still not bad.

Promotion coming to end Possible to extend?
Hi, last year I signed up for optimum triple play. I got a letter saying that the promotion will be coming to an end with the December bill and will be paying full rates for services. I have IO Gold+OOL regular+OV for $173. The bill shows $53 in savings with the promotional rates so I figure the bill will go up $53 once promo ends. Is it possible to get a promotion extension? If so, how. Thanks.

[OOL] Credit Request Online Form
Since I know many here do not have the Optimum Network as your home page, you might not realize that you can submit your credit request for any outage you experienced due to Hurricane Sandy online. There's no need to call them. Just go to the home page, select the "submit a credit request" chevron then click where it says "click here." Fill in the start and end dates of your outage and submit the request. It couldn't be easier.

WLIW & Subchannels
I haven't really followed the thread about NJ going all digital, but I guess Oakland is. In addition to channels like H2 and TVLand being in HD, I noticed that WLIW, WLIW World, and WLIW Create, although not looking like it's HD and not saying they are in the channel guide, are now widescreen and look much more crisp. My wife is a big Create fan and loves it.

IPG In Widescreen
in addition to my post about WLIW and subchannels in widescreen, I also noticed the iO home page and guide are in widescreen. I wonder if this will be carried over when the new guide is rolled out to Oakland.

[iO] New Guide Rollout
So I just got an email that says they will be doing work between 1AM and 6AM between now and the end of October. I presume this is the new software roll out. Also has instructions to reboot the boxes if they do not work properly after the software push.
I think it might be good to have a new topic where people can report when they get it and their opinions on it. The other topic is kinda disjointed.

[iO] New Jersey All Digital
Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) is beginning to notify subscribers in New Jersey that it will convert to an all-digital platform, which will require every TV in a home to be connected to a cable set-top by Oct. 1.
http://www.fiercecable.com/story/cablevision-go-all-digital-new-jersey/2012-07-13
Cablevision Digital Conversion Details:
Those currently paying for set top box(es) will continue to do so. But customers can request additional boxes or CableCARDs for every remaining television in the home and receive them free for one year.
Those who have no digital set top boxes in their homes now can receive a free box or CableCARD for every set for two years. In all instances, after the free promotion ends, customers will pay $6.95/mo for each device.
Newer televisions equipped with a QAM tuner can watch Cablevision's broadcast basic tier, consisting primarily of local over the air stations, without any extra equipment. Basic cable networks and premium channels will require a box or CableCARD.
Broadband customers can use Cablevision's app for iOS or a personal computer to watch the company's cable lineup within the home.
A Digital Television Adapter (DTA), or Digital-To-Analog Converter [set-top box] will be available from Cablevision within a year.
Equipment installation is free. Do-it-yourself customers can have the necessary equipment mailed to them for free or can pick equipment up at any Optimum Store location.

[Optimum Voice] Optimum Voice Caller ID and Verizon Wireless
I recently signed on with verizon wireless. I have Optimum voice as my home phone service. I set up my caller ID service with verizon wireless so that it would display my caller ID as "FIRST,LAST name" when I call any land line phone. And it's working with every landline phone service besides optimum. When I call any Optimum landline, it displays my caller ID as "verizon wireless". I called cablevision and they said there's no way to update their caller ID system for a cell phone. I think this is bull, but I could be wrong. Does anyone have an idea or solution for this issue?
