I have pixelation on ABC, WLIW and it's subchannels on occassion. I called on sept 19th. the rep restarted the box from the office (like that would do anything. roflmao). then afterwards they sent a tech out. Oct 2 at 11 am. I confirmed with the rep that I wouldn't be charged to begin with if he doesn't come into the house and if this couldn't be fixed w/o him coming into the house, he wasn't fixing it. Of course, just like a car that doesn't make a noise when the mechanic is looking at it, it wasn't pixelating when the tech showed up. I had also moved the box into my bedroom so I cancelled the appt. I signed the little hand held machine that I cancelled the appt.
So, I look at my bill today and it says "Missed appt" $80 !
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I called them and it took me 3 min. to get to where I would talk to someone. They were closed because I called at 8:01. (insert facepalm here)
So I'll call first thing tomorrow. It'll be interesting if they say they will give me a credit because I don't have the $141 to pay them. My bill is supposed to be $54. That's what I Have to pay them and that's what they're getting.

[TV] New service questions
I ordered new service and got the options below. Does that look okay? A lot of fees! I would of thought new customer pricing would be better, but I'm not very experienced in tv packages. I get internet only and it's no fees and no taxes!
Also, can I downgrade to internet 200 after installation? I went with 400 mainly for the free install.
I went without altice one since I wanted to use my own modem and save money. Am I giving up anything by doing that?
Finally, what does price for live get me? It seems like this is a pretty high price, so is there any benefit? Or were people paying more than this after a year or two?

Nostalgia
Was trying to figure out when Optimum Online first started being offered to residential, as well as cost in the late 90's. I didn't get OOL until 1999, nor do I recall how much my parents paid for service. I do remember one thing though; I was getting about 3.2MBPS (about 400 kilobytes a second) on their FTP download test server with the 10mbps 3com modem.

OOL account possibly hacked, changing password for email server
Hi all,
I'm an Optimum Online customer and for the past month I've been hacked a few different times on a few different websites, such as Facebook, Amazon and a few others. I.e., on 10/11 I got an email from Facebook of an unfamiliar login attempt from somewhere in Florida, I live in CT. So, I reset my password to one I've never used before but then just last night, the same thing happened except this time it was from South Carolina. I've also had similar situations with my Amazon and Walmart accounts. I also got an email from Lyft stating they could not find an account for my email address, good thing as I never did set up an account with them! I'm assuming someone must have hacked my OOL email account and this is how they are getting the new passwords. I logged into my optimum online account and was about to change my password but I'm wondering, does this also change the password used for for the email server, the one entered in my email client for POP 3 server password ? I'm waiting on a call back from Optimum customer service about this issue but figured I'd post the question here in the meantime. FYI, I also use RoboForm password manager, perhaps that could have been hacked?
Have any other users experienced this where there optimum online accounts were hacked? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Optimumwifi instead of Optimum Online?
Please forgive me if this was asked before or if it's a stupid question.
I'm currently on cheapest plan for Optimum Online (around $28 I believe, for 10Mbit). I live in Brooklyn, NY. I can't afford more expensive plans but sometimes I do need faster uploads.
Optimumwifi on my phone is fast outside my building, but inside an outdoor or roof antenna is needed.
Is there a way to switch my home internet to Optimumwifi? I've heard that Optimumwifi blocks mac addresses of either PC or router (which one??) that's used to connect to Optimum Online. Is that true and is there a way to change the MAC to avoid it being blocked? My modem is connected to a Linksys wrt54g, to which two PC are connected, plus my phone through WIFI.
Also, if I get a good antenna, resolve issues with MAC blockage and register new MAC with my account, are there any downsides to running home internet from Optimumwifi, such as data caps, forced re-logins etc?
I just want to keep paying for my Optimum Online while enjoying higher speed.

not the usual emergency test, just a blue screen with "Altice Information Channel LI-ALL" and elevator music.
as a premium paying customer, i should not have to be subjected to this annoyance of the cable box being "taken over" for twenty minutes by this stupid ridiculousness.

A few altice one questions
The pictures above show my current optimum plan/discounts. I was wondering how exactly the new altice one plans would work, would they be cheaper overall compared to what I currently have/pay? . Could I cancel my currently plan and use my girlfriend's name to open a new account? How is the altice one boxes,UI and service in general? Being that the plans on the website are for new customers only how would an existing customer switch to altice one service and how much is the cost if you aren't a new account? Could I use my own router and modem ? Currently my bill is around $175 per month , give or take

[TV] Optimum (Altice) in NJ Channel 150 (Motor Trend TV) NO GO
I have 3 cable cards for 12+ years, 1 with a HD Home Run Prime (HDHR3-CC) and 2 TiVo's.
Occasionally, I will lose Channel 150 on any of the cards.
For the most part, all has been stable for well over a year.
In the beginning of September this year I had Channel 150 (MTRHD) lost on the HD Home Run Prime.
After 4 support calls and then escalation to Executive Management, the tech fixed it in 30 seconds.
This week, same thing, however I spent 4+ hours, 14 different techs, re-bind, etc., etc., etc., no luck. However by doing whatever it is they do they also screwed up Channel 150 on 1 of the TiVo's, it too lost Channel 150 (only the one channel).
So now 2 devices, both no Channel 150.
I re-scan, re-scan, they re-bind, re-bind, no good.
TiVo's says "V58 Error" needs authorization, HD Home Run says "Unable to play channel" (sometimes, otherwise only black screen on that channel), ONLY ON CHANNEL 150, ALL OTHERS WORK 100%. ALL DEVICES WORK.
2 techs come out, 1st one changes connections, tests lines, spend 1+ hours, still no difference.
He sends a 2nd tech later in the day, he's here 1+ hours, re-bind, re-scan 5, 6 times, 2 different cable cards, same thing.
However, the TiVo comes back, Channel 150 works on 2 TiVo's devices, not on the HD Home Run.
Case gets escalated to "Resolution Specialists" at Optimum, another 30 minutes, no go, re-bind, etc., etc.
So, the question is: If only 1 channel is a problem on 1 device what could be the problem?

[OOL] old modem failing new modem not getting speeds I'm paying for
Subscribed to optimum 200. Old modem was TPlink tc-7610 16x4. Worked great till recently Was getting 250+ down consistently. Started dropping connection randomly after 3 years so I decided to upgrade to Motorola MB7621 24x8. I've tried contacting support and they are saying that everything on their end is setup properly. [OOL] Sb 8200 Modem on OOL 400 Plan
Would there be any security issues or general issues if my SB8200 has 3.1 Docsis down stream and a 3.0 uplink ?
(Issues like dns leaking, VPN security holes, improper configuration, etc...)
Or should I stick to my SB 6183?
I am currently on the 400 OOL plan. No 600 or 1GHz in my area in the Bronx.

QAM woes: one tuner picks up channels, TV gets none
The situation: el cheapo TV in one room, a HD Homerun in the next. I have broadcast basic + OOL, never used a box because hey I only get channels 2-13 so why the hell do I need a box?
Had to do a rescan recently to get my channels back which is fairly routine and channels moved. Hooray! Do the same process on my TV, and NOTHING. Actually, sometimes 1 thing. Every few scans or so it'll pick up 1 DTV channel, I don't know if its something my neighbors are watching or something or what, but it's always a different channel that it picks up (if at all), and sometimes it just picks up a channel's audio only and no picture.
I've tried unplugging everything and plugging the TV directly into the cable from to the house thinking that maybe it was a signal issue, same results every time. Is it simply the tuner on the TV is crap and Optimum has moved channels around to some mystical place that the regular TV tuner can no longer pick it up?

Wifi Band used affects DNS resolution?
If this is the answer, I am boggled by it. With Optonline supplied router, a user using a win 10 home HP laptop connected wirelessly (it doesn't have a wired NIC) to either 2.4 wifi or 5 (I forget which they were on).... they could consistently not resolve SOME addresses - like www.bloomingdales.com. And loads of others.
But other addresses resolved fine.
I checked for malware - none found, checked time and date - set correctly
I USED DIFFERENT DNS servers - optonlines, Google's, Open DNS... same results with the same websites (bloomie's and others failed regardless of DNS server, others resolve OK regardless of DNS server.
Pinging loads of public IP addresses - no dropped packets over 10s of minutes...
Turned off windows firewall - no change in the situation.
I did nslookup, set d2=1 and saw the domains resolve / fail.
Wanted to try that pc on a different network or add anotehr computer to the network. Finally, husband got home from a trip. Said 'yeah, I was having problems and changed the wifi network I was connecting to (2.4 to 5 or 5 to 2.4... I forget). The wife was on the same problem SSID (optonline router) as the husband initially. He changed her to the other SSID and problem solved.
REALLY!? Are there settings for the 2 bands that might influence DNS resolution for SOME addresses? That's what boggles my mind - yeah, maybe can't resolve any. OK. A network outage to the DNS servers (I tried several different ones). But can't resolve SOME? Because you are on 2.4 not 5 (or vice versa).??????
Have you ever heard of that? Would that be near the top of your list of things to suspect?

Horrible upload speeds for months - I don't know what to do.
Hi, can someone please help me. I am having horrible upload speeds since April of this year. Download speeds are fine.
I am on Optimum 400 - zip is 11230
Timeline:
April 2019 - Noticed my upload speeds were slow intermittently - going down to 4- 8 megabit up (expected around 35)
May 2019 - June 2019 - Slow speeds (upload) became the standard - not changing much on time of day, averaging around 8 - 10 megabit.
July 2019 - After troubleshooting all my machines (multiple Windows 10 and iOS devices), went to Optimum Store and got a new modem (disconnected my own modem) No change.
July 2nd - Altice tech came to my apartment and confirmed slow speeds, and 2 percent packet loss. They had HQ test other users in the building and noticed it was building wide - promised to escalate.
Mid-July 2019 - With no updates from Altice, I called a few times until I was escalated and was promised that they would investigate further.
August 2019 - Was told that there was a problem with the wiring between my apartment building and the street cables and would need new construction.
September 2019 - Was told that construction was approved, and they were waiting to start.
October 9th - Was told construction was scheduled for that week
October 17th - With no updates, I called and was told construction complete. My speeds are still awful and I am still getting occasional packet loss. Technician on the phone stated they don't see packet loss but suspect a problem at "the plant."
October 18th - Technician just came to my home, connected tester and says line is good - says will escalate to "super tech"
I don't know what to do, I am at my wit's end, and I feel like Altice has really dropped the ball. It's been 5+ months since I reported this, and so far no solution.
Additional information: Tested on two separate Windows 10 devices (brand new Thinkpad, and a custom built machine.) Plus two Apple iOS devices over Wifi. Tested by connecting my laptop and desktop directly to modem, skipping all routers, etc. Happens on two different modems (cablevision's and my own.)
